Krzysztof Labus holds the position of associated professor in the Institute of Applied Geology at the Silesian University of Technology. He graduated from the Faculty of Earth Sciences of the University of Silesia, and started his professional carrier as Field Geologist in the State Geological Enterprise in Katowice. He obtained his habilitation on mining hydrogeology from the Faculty of Mining and Geology Silesian University of Technology. He has worked also for the Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (Austria) as an investigator and for the State Inspectorate for Environment Protection (Poland).
For several years he has been conducting experimental and modeling studies on hydrochemical effects of sequestration of acid gases (carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide) in aquifers. He has been the leader of several research projects devoted to this issue, designed to dermine the possibilities and consequences of capturing CO2 in the selected sedimentary basisns in Poland.
Krzysztof Labus is a member of, among others, scientific boards of Oil and Gas Institute - National Research Institute, and the Institute of Clean Technologies for the Mining and Utilization of Raw Materials for Energy Use (Ostrava), and a member of the Technical Committee for Oil and Gas of the Polish Committee for Standardization.
Contact data:Grzegorz Leśniak is the Head of the Department of Geology and Geochemistry, and Member of the Scientific Board of of the Oil and Gas Institute - National Research Institute (INiG) in Cracow. He graduated from the Faculty of Geology and Geophysics of the University of Mining and Metallurgy in Cracow, and began his professional career as a petrographist- mineralogist in the INiG. His PhD he obtained in the Polish Geological Institute - National Research Institute in Warsaw.
The main aspects of his work are related to work for companies involved in hydrocarbon exploration. In his research, he is linking petrographic – mineralogical analysis, with the interpretation of rock diagenesis processes influencing the development of the pore space, evaluation of hydrocarbon migration, and experimental flow tests of reservoir rocks. For several years, his basic research interest is the exploration of shale- and tight gas deposits.

Doktorat uzyskał w roku 2002 na Akademii Górniczo-Hutniczej w Krakowie.
Główne aspekty jego pracy zawodowej związane są z pracami dla firm poszukujących i udostępniających złoża węglowodorów, zainteresowania naukowe to głównie opracowywanie technologii zabiegów stymulacji wydobycia węglowodorów ze złóż konwencjonalnych i niekonwencjonalnych. W ostatnim czasie szczególnie koncentruje się nad technologiami szczelinowania łupków. Jest konsultantem technologicznym w zakresie stymulacji firm poszukiwawczych.
Piotr Kasza jest członkiem rady naukowej Instytutu Nafty i Gazu – PIB.
Contact data:Aly Hamouda obtained his doctorate degree from Imperial College Science and Technology, University of London. He is currently a professor at University of Stavanger, Norway. He is teaching production courses at University of Arkhangelsk in Russia and University of Tromso, in Norway. He is a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and in the Editorial Board for publications of book series in oilfield chemistry by Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
He has worked for 15 years with Phillips Petroleum (currently ConocoPhillips) as advisor for production and reservoir engineering activities. He has worked at ConocoPhillips research Center, OK, USA in 1984 in research related to formation damage. He has many scientific and industrial research projects and publications within the areas of oil recovery (water injection, CO2 and WAG) and flow assurance. He has received “Award of Excellence”, August 1995 and Performance Awards from Phillips Petroleum Company, in 1992, 1993 and 1997. Invited scientific guest to give talks about fluid /rock interaction by Gubkin University, Moscow. He has held several workshops/courses in different countries on flow assurance and EOR.
