In Oil and Gas Institute - National Research Institute, Cracow, there was performed a meeting of the ENFLUID project partners, which was attended by Krzysztof Labus, Aly Anis Hamouda, Piotr Such, Grzegorz Leśniak, Paweł Budak, Klaudia Wilk.
The following issues were discussed:
On 23-05-2016, in Oil and Gas Institute- National Research Institute, Kraków, there was performed a second in this year meeting of the ENFLUID project partners, which was attended by: Krzysztof Labus, Aly Anis Hamouda, Grzegorz Leśniak, Marian Turek, Piotr Kasza, Klaudia Wilk, Marcin Majkrzak. At the meeting issues related to the status of work within WP 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 as well as financial and administrative issues were discussed.
On 04-05 February 2016 the first meeting in this year's, gathering representatives of all implemented in the country's work packages was held in Jarnołtówek (Opawskie Mountains). It was attended by: Klaudia Wilk, Paweł Budak, Piotr Kasza, Krzysztof Labus, Grzegorz Lesniak, Marian Turek.
On 04.02.2016, according to the assumptions of the " Plan for the promotion of the project under the action of the Polish-Norwegian research cooperation" the following issues were discussed:
According to the decision of the Faculty of Chemistry Council, Silesian University of Technology, Ms. MSc. Klaudia’s Wilk doctorate entitled: “Impact assessment of energized fracturing fluids for reservoir rocks of hydrocarbon deposits” has been opened on 17.06.2015. Promoters of PhD thesis are: DSc. Piotr Dydo- Associate Professor, and DSc. Krzysztof Labus- Associate Professor. Tests provided in the schedule of doctorate will be carried out under the ENFLUID project.
From 20 to 22 May 2015, the Ignacy Łukasiewicz Oil and Gas Industry Museum in Bóbrka hosted the X National Congress of the Oil and Gas Industry Workers. The Ignacy Łukasiewicz Museum of Oil and Gas Industry in Bóbrka is a very unique place worldwide. It was created on the grounds of the world oldest oil mine established in 1854 by Ignacy Łukasiewicz – father of the Polish and world oil industry.
The Congress, which was organised by the Board of the Association of Engineers and Technicians of the Oil and Gas Industry (SAOGIET), was focused on “Innovative technologies and human capital the basis for the development of Polish oil and gas industry”. During the conference the following presentation was shown: Energized fluids - new possibilities of hydrocarbon deposits stimulation. Lecture given by DSc. Piotr Kasza was related to laboratory study that illustrates the potential using of nitrogen energized fracturing fluids.

On 09-12-2014, in Oil and Gas Institute- National Research Institute, Kraków, there was performed a meeting of the ENFLUID project partners, which was attended by Project Leader - Krzysztof Labus, Grzegorz Lesniak - the leader of WP1, Piotr Kasza - the leader of WP2, Aly A. Hamouda - the leader of WP4 and WP5, Marian Turek - the leader of WP6 accompanied by, Klaudia Wilk, Renata Cicha-Szot, Paweł Budak and Marcin Majkrzak – researchers from the Oil and Gas Institute-NRI and Sylwia Lutyńska, Agata Jakóbik-Kolon – researchers from the Silesian University of Technology
The meeting was devoted to discussions on the following subjects:
Leaders of WP’s presented the current state of the work carried out as well as detailed discussions on the work related to the work package WP5 jointly implemented by UiS and INiG-PIB. Partners also discussed the issue of financing the activities of UiS within the budget of the project and formulate appropriate suggestions for economic services of the University of Stavanger and Silesian University of Technology.
On 10/10/2014, the next meeting of the ENFLUID project team, was performed in Oil and Gas Institute - NRI in Kraków, according with the "Plan for the promotion of the project under the action of the Polish-Norwegian research cooperation",
The participants of the meeting were: the project leader - Krzysztof Labus and leaders and researchers of WP2 (Piotr Kasza, Klaudia Wilk) and WP6 (Marian Turek, Piotr Dydo and Agata Jakóbik-Kolon).
The methodology of preparation and testing of energized fracturing fluid in the package WP2, was discussed during the meeting. Moreover the strategy of preparation of flowback samples, representing the fracturing conditions in reservoir formations, addressed in the ENFLUID project, was refined.
It was also found, that the work planned in the framework of WP2 and WP6 proceed according to pre-planned schedule.
The Conference was held in Zakopane-Kościelisko from 15th to 18th September 2014 and was organized by The Oil and Gas Institute – National Research Institute.
Conference entitled: “Exploration and production of oil and natural gas reservoirs – new technologies, new challenges." The goal of the meeting was to present the current research and development problems related to the new directions of research serving the needs of oil and gas industry upon the background of the world achievements, as well as to exchange the experiences and establish closer cooperation between re¬presentatives of institutions responsible for the development of this industry in the EU member states and Central and Eastern Europe. During conference were organized workshops related to the ENFLUID topics. The following presentations were shown: P. Such, G. Lesniak: Między geologią a inżynierią złożową – Projekt EnFluid; K. Labus: Lessons from successes and failures of batch experiments on gas-rock and energized fracturing fluid-rock interactions; Renata Cicha-Szot, Andy Steinbach, Mike Marsh, Jeff Gelb, Sven Linden, Andreas Wiegmann, Erik Glatt, Grzegorz Leśniak: Survey of recent advaces in digital rock physics – benefits of DRP and their application to reservoir characterization; A.A. Hamouda: Energized fracture fluid with CO2. Enhance oil/gas production; P. Kasza: Fracturing fluids for shale formations.

The annual International Symposium of the Society of Core Analysts Conference was held in Avignon, France from 8th to 11th September 2014. The motto of the symposium was: " Core Analysis: from coring to numerical simulations." The meeting was aimed at presenting current research issues and challenges posed by the exploitation of unconventional reservoirs as well as the exchange of experience and closer cooperation with representatives of the institutions of the world's leading research centers. Symposium participants had the opportunity to participate in the short course conducted by Prof. Doug Ruth (University of Manitoba) on the determination and interpretation of capillary pressures and in workshop “Core Acquisition, Handling and Sampling to Ensure Quality Tests”.

The next meeting of the ENFLUID project team, according with the "Plan for the promotion of the project under the action of the Polish-Norwegian research cooperation", was performed in Ustroń, on 21.08.2014.
The participants of the meeting were: the project leader - Krzysztof Labus and leaders and researchers of WP2 (Piotr Kasza, Klaudia Wilk) and Jan Waligóra representative of Ustroń Health Resort.
The visit helps to familiarize with the problems of use of brines and the methods to neutralize biological contamination in the natural brines. The experience and knowledge gained in this field will be useful when testing the effectiveness of UV to reduce the bacteria growth in fracturing fluids.
It was also found, that the work planned in the framework of project proceed according to pre-planned schedule.
The next meeting of the ENFLUID project team, according with the "Plan for the promotion of the project under the action of the Polish-Norwegian research cooperation", was performed in Oil and Gas Institute - NRI in Krosno, on 13/06/2014.
The participants of the meeting were: the project leader - Krzysztof Labus and leader of WP2 – Piotr Kasza, and a representative of the research team, representing the Oil and Gas Institute - NRI Klaudia Wilk.
The meeting focused on the Initiation of the doctoral procedure on the application of energized fracturing fluids for oil and natural gas reservoir rocks. Participants discussed the scope of research and preliminary work schedule as well as the formal requirements for Initiation of the doctoral procedure at the Faculty of Mining and Geology, Silesian University of Technology.In addition to discussing ongoing stages of the work carried out under the project, in the second part of the meeting, the modern equipment, allowing for testing of energized fracturing fluids and foams was presented. Sample tests with the use of tube rheometer and M9200 foam generator were performed.
It was found that the work planned in the framework of WP2 and WP3 proceed according to pre-planned schedule.
On 01 04 2014, in Rica Forum Hotel, Stavanger, there was performed a meeting of the ENFLUID project partners. The meeting was hosted by Prof. AA Hamouda - the leader of WP4 and WP5. Polish Partners, represented by the Project Leader - Krzysztof Labus, Grzegorz Lesniak - the leader of WP1 Piotr Kasza - the leader of WP2 were accompanied by, Klaudia Wilk and Paweł Budak – researchers from the Oil and Gas Institute.
The meeting was devoted to discussions on the following subjects:
Grzegorz Leśniak - recapitulated the progress of research on petrographic and petrophysical characteristics of core samples. Piotr Kasza presented the scheme and recent results of work on the selection of the composition of fracturing fluid. Krzysztof Labus – pointed out the organizational and financial issues of the project and presented the preliminary results of experimental studies on the fracturing fluid influence on the mineralogical composition and texture of the reservoir rocks studied.
Prof. Aly Hamouda focused on the approach to address interactions of CO2 with fracturing fluids and reservoir formations, within the WP4. There were proposed concrete solutions regarding the experimental tests on borehole core samples and specially selected reference samples. Prof. Hamouda, as the WP5 leader, inspired also a discussion on the use of research equipment, owned by the Oil and Gas Institute, in the course of work associated with the work package (WP5), which is implemented jointly by all partners
An extremely nice touch, at the end of this busy day, was the dinner, in which at the invitation of Prof. Aly Hamouda and his wife Mayliss, in addition to representatives of the Polish project partners, participated Hans Borge - Head of the Institute of Petroleum Technology UiS. The Host of our meeting received an official invitation to participate in the role of key-speaker at the Geopetrol 2014 Conference, organized by INiG,
